Hours: 9:00am–3:00pm
Wage: Starting at $18/hour
S.P.A.R.K. Camp Counsellors support campers in daily activities, complete some personal care and help create a fun, safe, and inclusive camp experience. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working directly with children, youth and adults with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Support campers during activities, routines, personal care, and transitions
- Encourage participation, inclusion, and positive social interactions
- Assist with set-up, clean-up, and daily camp routines
- Follow behaviour support plans and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with Team Leads and fellow staff
Qualifications
- The minimum age requirement of 16 years old.
- Interest or experience working with children, youth or adults with disabilities
- Ability to be patient, positive, and flexible
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Experience supporting individuals with additional needs is an asset
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- CPI certification (Provided by Sonshine)
Contract Details
- Camps run Monday to Friday, 9:00am–3:00pm, from July 13 to August 14
- One week of mandatory training prior to camp start dates
